“Strategic Leadership for the Next Chapter of Growth and Profitability”
Thruvision Group plc (AIM: THRU), a leading innovator in walk-through security technology, has announced a pivotal leadership change with the appointment of Victoria Balchin as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 2, 2025. This internal promotion follows the departure of former CEO Colin Evans in October 2024, marking a significant milestone in the company’s evolution.
Balchin, who has served as Thruvision’s Chief Financial Officer since October 1, 2022, has been instrumental in steering the company through a transitional period. Her exceptional leadership during the months following Evans’ exit played a decisive role in her unanimous selection by the Board of Directors. Alongside her new role, she will continue her responsibilities as CFO, with the support of Company Secretary Hannah Platt.
Executive Chairman Tom Black expressed confidence in Balchin’s leadership, emphasizing her proven capability to guide Thruvision through its next phase. “Victoria’s performance over the past two years, particularly during recent challenges, has demonstrated her ability to lead as we work towards achieving profitability,” he said. Black himself will maintain an active role, focusing on the company’s sales operations, which are currently undergoing strategic review.
The Board’s decision to promote from within underscores Thruvision’s commitment to leveraging its established talent pool while ensuring leadership continuity. This approach aligns with the company’s broader strategy of driving growth and profitability as it advances towards its strategic objectives.
As Thruvision enters this critical phase, Balchin’s appointment signals a renewed focus on innovation and operational efficiency. Her leadership is set to play a crucial role in positioning Thruvision as a leader in security technology while enhancing shareholder value.
This announcement highlights Thruvision’s readiness to embrace its next chapter, with a strong leadership team poised to navigate the path forward.
